Three Societal Classes for Superior Predictions
The foundation of any Artificial Intelligence or predictive system is a useful classification system [updated 01 28 2024] #RulingClass #EnablingClass #SurvivingClass
These classifications have useful predictive utility. We classify someone into one of these categories to better predict their future behaviors.
Classifications like liberal, progressive, conservative, Socialist, Marxist, Communist, Capitalist, Globalist, Green, Party X, Party Y, left, right, etc. are increasingly useless to predict voter, market, company or investor behaviors. The three class names listed below are all verbs as in describing what members within might actually do, versus arbitrarily noun names like left versus right.
Every person will not cleanly fit into one of these three classifications. And people can evolve over time among one classification versus another. Nevertheless, the three classifications of Ruling, Enabling and Surviving are extremely useful for understanding the motivations and for making societal predictions about the class members.
The Ruling Class
The Ruling Class (RC) is a trans-national group of individuals not tied to a particular nation or organization. The (RC) seeks to expand and preserve its power over the societies it governs. Wealth, peer acceptance, affluence and global celebrity are also craved although these are not key definers of a Ruling Class person. It is not about adhering to governmental systems like constitutional democracy, socialism, Marxism or communism. It is not about sincerely serving the Surviving or Enabling Classes. The Ruling Class exists for its own power - power over the vast majority of society.
This quest for power and control by a Ruling Class has been part of societies for thousands of years. Think back to Egyptian pharaohs with their vast slave populations or to European kings with their dominated subjects, or to East Germany with the Berlin Wall to imprison its people. Democracies as we know them are governing exceptions in the long arc of history. What is new in our times are the technologies that enable our Ruling Class to scale toward authoritarian regimes.
The Ruling Class is a very small population, perhaps under one thousand individuals around the world. On most situations, their interconnections transcend national allegiances. There is no directory of the Ruling Class. Nevertheless, here are some of their gatherings: Allen & Co conference in Sun Valley 2021; World Economic Forum; and Bilderberg Meetings.
The Enabling Class
The Ruling Class needs a compliant Enabling Class. The Enabling Class (EC) promotes and enforces the ideology, narratives and policies of the RC. Some in EC may actually believe they are enhancing the greater good of society. Members of the EC are often malleable to RC wishes, and ironically the RC frequently deems members of the EC as expendable. EC enforcement of RC policies and rules ensures economic benefits and EC social acceptance.
Most political leaders today are of the Enabling Class - of all political parties. Aka Enablers. The dominant political party takes the lead in enforcing Ruling Class policies while the subordinate political party(s) is either silent in its opposition or is “controlled opposition” to policies that threaten the survival of the Surviving Class.
There is even a training program for eager Enablers who desire to be part of the Ruling Class. That program is called the World Economic Forum Young Leaders Program.
Brandon Smith: “Understanding The Tyrannical Mind And How It Operates.” The tyrannical [Ruling Class] mindset is not exclusive to the Stalins, Maos and Hitlers of history, it is a deep rooted shadow that lurks in the majority of us at times. It is this condition that political tyrants try to exploit to their advantage, because no authoritarian [Ruling Class] government can ever be successful without the help of millions of little tyrants [Enabling Class] supporting them. They find a way to feed our desire for control and predictability while simultaneously enslaving us [Surviving Class].
Dietrich Bonhoeffer discovered a fundamental truth about the rise of an #EnablingClass. He paid the ultimate price for this discovery.
The Surviving Class
The Surviving or Survival Class (SC) is the primary economic engine sustaining the Ruling and Enabling Classes. Referring to author H. G. Wells in his Time Machine novel, the Surviving Class are those in society who “keeps thing going.” In recent history, capitalism, liberty and property rights motivated the SC. A society without a vibrant SC becomes a failed economy like the Soviet Union, Cuba or Venezuela. Failed economies presage dour lives for SC and EC citizens.
Although the Ruling Class needs the economic engine of the Surviving Class, the RC fears the SC will be a source of resistance or even defeat of the Ruling Class and its ambitions, therefore the Surviving Class is under increasing surveillance. The RC commonly demonizes or synthesizes enemies within the Surviving Class who need to be subdued, bridled and broken.
With these classifications, our artificial intelligence can more clearly track and discover emerging political themes within societies across the globe.
